England Trip - 28th July 2006 (Course)

The name of the course was 'St. Giles International Organ School Pre-course for Hong Kong Organist'. Every student had an individual practice time at St. Giles Cathedral during the course. I was arranged to practice at the very morning today. It was ridiculous that I had to practice before the first lesson. Practice before learning anything, STRANGE!! Therefore, I only experimented the organ during this sole practice time. The touching of the pipe organ was different from the electronic organ as well as the sounds, so it was still a valuable experience.

During the break, Paulie, Nydia and I visited the National Gallery and some tourist scenic spots around. London was still crowded and dusty but the gallery was still attractive.

After the break, we went to Westminster Cathedral, which was grand and peaceful, to attend choral vespers and mass . The most unforgettable experience today was having a chance to listen to the demonstration of the Willis organ by Martin Baker. The sounds of the Willis organ were majestic. Some course mates took the opportunity to play and I appreciated their performances very much. I didn't took this opportunity because I didn't prepare any repertoires to play but hymns and I didn't bring the hymn book there.

In addition, the evil thing continued. I found that my new Japan version Converse sneakers were stained with the black colour of my trousers!!!!! I hated that.
