We had a dress party at the playgroup last Thursday. Frankly, I don't like putting the princess costume for Isabella. I can't say it is frumpy or old-fasioned but I just don't like to do something that most mothers do. To a certain extend, I think the princess costume makes the girls look too old and unnatural. There is a pair of kitten ear hairpins at my home (I have already forgotten who gave them to Isabella). What I did for the party was to buy a ball of yarn and make it into a kitten tail and then adhere it on a pink gauzy skirt (Isabella wore it on my elder sister's big day). After that, she became Marie!
There is a marked improvement in Isabella's responses to the playgroup activities. For the first few times that she went to the playgroup, she rejected to dance or sing songs with the other children because she felt so insecured. Acutally, she liked the playgroup very much since the first time she went there but she just couldn't enjoyed it to the full or I can say she just didn't know how to join in. But now, she dances and sings with all the children. Even though sometimes she still wants me to hold her hand and do the craft with her, I am already contented.
